Psalm 33:6-11

There is something beautiful about the style and language in the Psalms that lifts the spirits and brings powerful clarity to the God that we serve. Isn’t it amazing that all the glorious wonders of creation, that stop us dead in our tracks, have all been created by God and are a testament to His power? Everything in the heavens—things seen by telescope and beyond—have been set in motion at the exact time and place He desired. The heavens bear His image and testify to His goodness and grace!

No matter what goes on in this life, the God who made all things by just His word loves you and me and has placed us into His story. He didn’t just make everything, grab a good seat, and watch it all play out; in fact, God did just the opposite. The intentionality behind His creation, from the coldest and highest mountain to the warmest and clearest ocean, is for you and me to pour forth the praise that He is due—to declare His excellencies as His chosen people (1 Peter 2:9), created for praise and sustained by His power.

It may seem strange to ask, but have you thanked Him for the beauty and purpose behind His creation?
