John 4:1-26

A Timely Encounter

In John 4, we see the unconditional love of Jesus Christ expressed to the Samaritan woman at the well. That same love was also expressed to us one day. Jesus waited for us and He didn’t give up on us. No matter how filthy we were, He accepted us just as we were into His Family.

Do you ever feel like the Samaritan woman, dissatisfied with life, thirsty for love and fulfillment? If so, just surrender to God and allow His love to penetrate and saturate your heart. (v 13-14)

Jesus saw the Samaritan woman as a great evangelist even before she saw herself as a witness.  (v 28-29) He did not condemn her or judge her. He simply talked to her about achieving eternal life. He sees our potential, no matter how we look now.

Jesus’ entire purpose for walking 20 miles to Sychar in Samaria was to save souls.

Points to Ponder:

What’s your purpose?

Is my daily life an act of worship?

Do I worship in Spirit and in Truth?

Do I worship God because I’m in a church location or because of who He is?

Thank You Heavenly Father for the plan of salvation, and for the knowledge that salvation is available to everyone if they just believe in your Son Jesus Christ. Help us to see the world as a place to present Christ to others, so that your name will be glorified.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
