Luke 19:28-40

Submitted by Sister Selina E. Smith

In the scripture, Luke 19:28-40, King Jesus is riding colt. Imagine you were this colt - tied, content, and unable to move. All of a sudden someone frees us and it feels like they are piling things on our back! Now, we start to question our situation.

Colt: God, why are you doing this? What am I to learn from this? Where are you taking me?

God: “For I know the plans I have for you,” On your back is a King. He is the Savior of the world. He’ll heal the sick, make the lame to walk, and open blind eyes.

And the people were praising as Jesus was entering, saying “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Think of how this colt felt? Sometimes we feel like trials and tribulation are heavy on our back. What’s important is that we recognize that the burdens on our back are the very thing that we need to be free for the Lord to get His glory.

Father, help us to remember to give you glory through our trials because You are preparing us for You to get the glory! In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
