Psalm 105: 1-15

Submitted by Sis. Ann Sullivan

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
Psalm 105:4

What does it mean to "search for the Lord?"

It means that we have a heart that continually desires His will and His way. It means studying the Word to find out what He is like and how we can serve Him. It means going to Him in prayer as the Holy Spirit prompts you many times a day. It also means asking for His guidance, repenting of our sins, and adoring Him in worship as you reflect on the goodness of God and who He is. Our life's task is to walk closely with Him each day. That search for a deeper relationship with Him is a never-ending joy. Make your search a one-step-at-a-time experience.

When we begin each day with our heads bowed and hearts lifted, we remind ourselves of God's love, protection, and commandments. If we are wise, we will align our priorities for the coming day with the teachings and commandments that God has given us through His Holy Word.

We all should be encouraged to spend time daily in a systematic reading of God's Word. Make this "quiet time" a priority that no one can change.

I thank You, Father, for your blessings. Keep me mindful of your gifts as I find contentment and balance. Let your priorities be my priorities. Give me the wisdom to place my faith and my trust in you.
