Over the Christmas break I had a conversation with my daughter about the possibility of her moving to a different state. She is considering moving from Atlanta, GA to another state to stretch herself and gain valuable experience and advance in her career… so she thinks.  I believe God is moving on her heart to draw her closer to him and he wants to give her the chance to remove some distractions by locating her in an unfamiliar place.
God gives us all opportunities to grow closer to him, share with others and develop our spiritual walk, but we must be obedient in our listening and actions to be in position to be ready with assignments completed when He returns. In the 24th chapter of Matthew, Jesus reminds the disciples that no man knows the day or the hour of His return. Lest we find ourselves in the unfavorable position of Jerusalem, we must be attentive to His instruction.  One of my favorite quotes is by the late Christian evangelist, Leonard Ravenhill, and I think it is appropriate to addressing the sense of urgency we must all have when it comes to leaning on the promises of the Lord. This quote reads. “The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity."
Lord, I pray for a sprit of understanding and that whatever assignment you have for me to share your word and draw closer to you that I accept it with clarity and excitement to do your will. It’s in your son Jesus name I pray,
