The Question of the Day: When will we resume our regular services? Let me assure you that no one wants to get back to our “normal worship” any more than I do. I have asked God to guide us in returning to regular services. He is keeping us on “hold”. I promised Him that we would follow Him and we must do just that. The virus is getting worse and the 4th of July is upon us and we must wait to see what this holiday will do to the numbers. Please remain faithful to the Word and to your church! Lean not to thine own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.
Reading Assignment For July: We are reading the Books of Ephesians, Colossians, and Philippians. Paul is the writer of these books and he wrote them while under house arrest in guarded rental quarters. He was in jail for three years and he used this time to write. COVID-19 has afforded us more time at home. Let’s use this time to read what he wrote.
Communion Time: Beginning tomorrow, you may come to the church and collect your communion elements. If you cannot come to the church, you may use what you have at home. Please try to collect your communion on Wednesday or Thursday. We will have a funeral at the church on Friday. I do realize that Saturday is the 4th of July; however, Larry Johnson, will have the church open from 10-2pm for you to collect communion.
Church Closed: Due to the funeral on Friday, Gwen and Leeann will work on their holiday. The office will be closed on Monday, July 6, 2020.
Thank You: Linda and I are most appreciative of your response in sending cards and messages to our sister, Betty Gloston. I will present them to her, during the Memorial Service, on July 11th. The service will be held in Houston. You can still send cards to Betty Gloston, C/O Isiah and Linda Joshua, 1102 Lakewood Drive, McKinney, TX 75072, or drop your card off at the church. Rev. Ivory Gloston is her husband’s name.
Tithes and Offering: Please continue to support your church. We have been able to do great things because of your obedience to God’s word. Last week, we updated the lighting in the Sanctuary. Some of you have not been in the building since we replaced the carpet and entry tiles and added new signs above the doors. Our outreach ministry is still going strong.
From My Heart: I love you guys with all of my heart! I shall continue to pray for you. Please do not participate in large gatherings and adhere to all of the safety precautions. I know that I am a hovering pastor. I just have an obligation and calling to look out for you guys.
A pastor for all people,
Isiah Joshua, Jr
