1. Happy Early Thanksgiving-
Due to the upcoming holiday week I may not do Tuesday Tidbits; therefore, I would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. Please remember to observe all COVID-19 guidelines so that you can remain safe and healthy. Try to avoid large gatherings, remember to wear masks and by all means WASH YOUR HANDS! I trust that we will remember to give thanks to the One who gave the ultimate sacrifice, on our behalf.
A couple of weeks ago I solicited your support to our online scholarship fund (on our church website) for our 2021 graduates. I failed to inform you that the $100 and $50 contributions that I asked for is to be paid over a period of time. We would appreciate if you could make your final contribution by the mid-May. By the way, this Sunday is the fourth Sunday, which is our designated scholarship contribution day. Your support is greatly appreciated.
3. 2021 High School Graduates and Parents-
The SMBC Scholarship Committee is in the process of planning for our annual Graduation and Scholarship Celebration which will be held in June of 2021. We need your contact information, including your name, parent’s name, email addresses for both you and your parents, cellular phone numbers, and the name of school from which you are graduating. You will receive our scholarship application, as well as other essential information regarding the scholarship/application process. Please send your information to Sis. Mary Rivers, Committee Chairperson at firstname.lastname@example.org .
4. The Big Question-
When will we return to regular worship service?
5. The Big Answer-
We will return to regular worship service when there is a significant decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases. At this time there is a surge in the number of cases and research shows that the numbers will possibly increase during the next few months. I assure you that we are constantly looking at the data and praying that God will guide us in making the right decision for the safe return to regular worship. Please know that your health and safety will always be at the forefront of our decision making.
6. Midweek Service-
There will be no online Midweek Service the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving.
7. Online Worship and Opportunities for Spiritual Enrichments-
Being that we will not be returning to worship soon, I would highly encourage you to become involved in the virtual ministry opportunities at SMBC. A list of these opportunities is emailed to you each Friday. This list includes the zoom classes, meeting ID’s, and passcodes.
8. Again, have a Happy Thanksgiving and try not to eat too much!
A pastor for all people,
Isiah Joshua, Jr.
